"Hey as far as I'm concerned this guy Arlin Godwin should send me a fan club application. Why? Well, because he's been a favorite of mine ever since he started recording...Godwin is back with a 3 song demo that smacks of dance bits, song hits and hot shits! Once again, the club sensibilities are there, but this time out Godwin also incorporates the same treatments that made Seal an award-winning act. On the title track "Joy" there will be no argument! Joy to the world indeed."

From NORTHERN VIRGINIA RHYTHM FEBRUARY 1995
"Somewhere between a dance-hall and the MTV music video show '120 Minutes', Arlin Godwin through a three song demo has reproven himself a terrific performer. All of these songs are great. And while I'm bragging about the music some more, let me ask why some producer hasn't snatched up his records, slapped some big name label on them and made millions on the club plays? Godwin will entertain club goers as well as WHFS listeners who are tired of hearing the same five songs twelve times a day."

From THE CAPITOL PRIDE GUIDE
JUNE 2005

"...This local electronic artist, otherwise known as Arlin Godwin, creates songs about urban gay life, from the club to the bathhouse to Judy Garland. Godwin has a small appealing voice that rides atop ravishing, meticulous music full of electronic blips, bleeps and bends that often recall his idols, including Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode."

From THE WASHINGTON CITY PAPER
MAY 1995 by Mark Jenkins
"Melody takes precedence over beats on the lead track from the second single from Arlin Godwin. "The Secret's Out" ("that I love you of course) is a brisk, bouncy pop-disco number that could almost be a vintage Human League B-side. Harder and more contemporary is the flip, "Play With Me" which suggests Prince's influence almost as strongly as did "StereoPornoGroove", it's predecessor."

From METRO WEEKLY
APRIL 8, 2004 "HEARSAY"

"...Faster than you can say "and a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way," Hearsay followed the palm fronds on the floor and the hanging crosses to Blaine Soileau's House of Sacrilege Saturday, usually known as Velvet Nation. Actually, it's usually known as SundayMASS DC, the event Soileau and crew host every other week on Sunday in the after-after-after-after hours at Club Five...At Velvet's regular-hours event, he brought in Rob Harris to help him serve communion. They led the service from the stage - that's right, the DJ booth in the back was empty. And they led it shirtless, which inspired a massive wave of congregants to rip off their shirts in an exhibition of unity. Local boy Kenny Taos sang his electronic, high-church camp rendition of the classic hymn "Amazing Grace", produced by local electronic artist delphiniumBLUE. Hearsay once was lost, but now is just gone..."
From THE WASHINGTON CITY PAPER
DECEMBER 1994 by Mark Jenkins
"The 12-inch dance record has survived the death of disco but what about the 7-inch dance single? That's what local music producer Arlin Godwin has created with "StereoPornoGroove", a neo-disco track with the standard compliment of electrobeats and breathy samples; not exactly pornographic, the Princely song (title courtesy Tipper Gore) does feature orgasmic sighs or the sort commonly found on mid-70's dance floors. The starker B-side "Ed's Place" is more contemporary, but "Stereo" is more fun."
